Why I started Bean Candle Co
I have always been drawn to calm — to the quiet power of a thoughtfully kept space and the way small rituals can shift how a home feels. From an early age, I learned that simplicity, warmth, and beauty are not indulgences, but necessities.
That belief shaped my path. I founded a bakery, where I found joy in creating small, comforting moments, and built a career helping others find homes. Candles became a natural extension of that instinct — simple objects with the ability to ground a room and soften a day.
When I couldn't find candles that reflected my sense of home — beautifully designed, intentionally made, and meant to be lived with — I began making my own. What started as a personal practice grew into Bean Candle Co., a brand created to live at the intersection of wellness and design.
The name BEAN reflects the philosophy behind every candle: a reminder to Breathe, Ease into the moment, Awaken the senses, and Nurture the space around you. Each candle is hand-poured in Sewickley, Pennsylvania — a suburb of Pittsburgh — balancing refinement with warmth, and crafted to create the sense of sanctuary I once sought, and now share with others.
