- Each time you light your candle, let the wax melt completely to the edges of the container (about 2 hours) before extinguishing it. This helps prevent “tunneling,” where only the center wax melts down, ensuring an even burn.
- Avoid burning your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. This safety measure not only preserves your candle but ensures you can enjoy it multiple times.
- Trim the wick to about ¼” before each use. Keeping the wick short and centered helps maintain a clean, even burn.
- If you dislike the smoke when extinguishing a candle, use a wick snuffer or dipper. A snuffer extinguishes the flame, while a dipper gently dips the wick into the wax pool.
